OUR PHILOSOPHY

During the late 1970’s, construction management became a vital part of the construction industry to help deal with rising construction costs and complexity of building projects.

Prior to construction management, the architect acted as the owner’s representative being involved in budgeting, procuring contracts and project coordination, as well as filling the traditional role of designer.

A general contractor was hired based on a lump sum price to build a project following a completed set of construction drawings. In an effort to save time and money, many owners rushed their design team, thereby compromising the quality of their drawings. This resulted in changes during construction and increased costs to the owner.

As projects became more complex and the duration of a project became a critical part in its success, the role of a construction manager became an appealing alternative to the traditional general construction contractor. As years past, owners and construction management firms developed a myriad of delivery methods, forcing construction managers to be at risk, thus making a full circle back to past methods. The results: cost overruns, reduced work quality and time delays that all sacrificed the project’s success—at the owner’s expense.

Our philosophy is to always operate under the owner's perspective. We focus on limiting risks by working with the design team up front to identify the true scope of work, ensure accuracy of construction drawings and avoid changes during construction.

We uphold this philosophy by utilizing our technical expertise and foresight to pull planners, designers, consultants, vendors and contractors together and the commanding influence to lead a synchronized effort that satisfies contractual agreements and meets owners’ expectations.
